Area Overview

Northern California and Southern Oregon is blessed with a moderate climate, mountains that rise over 14,000 ft., and is close to the Pacific Ocean, the California Redwoods, Crater Lake, wild rivers, and evergreen forests. There is a State University and junior college nearby. Culturally, with the Britt Music Festivals and the Shakespearean Festival, involvement in the arts is far above the national average. The area hosts 175,000 citizens. Crime is minimal and community relations are "neighborly". It's a wonderful place to grow up and live, and is one of the three top retirement areas on the West Coast.

The Central Pacific Region is, by in large, a rural area. The Area is surrounded by fur, pine and cedar covered foot hills, accented by mountains rising between 10,000 and 14,000 feet.  Medford, hosting  60,000 people, is the area's largest city. Natural beauty hosts good climate, clean water and fresh air. This is a great natural setting in which to help youth.

The People

People are involved in this area. One of the finest retirement areas in the nation, good churches, and great support organizations and clubs exist throughout the area.
